A lot of our writing will take place on the class blog, so please take some time to click through the posts and become more comfortable and familiar with with blog. The blog serves as a discussion and participation space for you to engage with each other as well as to allow to see how/what you are learning.
The following guidelines are true for all blogs:
(1) All responses to blog posts should be around 300 words.
(2) You are required to reply back to at least 2 of your classmates for each post, and these responses should be around 50 words a piece. These responses should be more than simply saying "good post" or "I really enjoyed what you said" instead you need engage in a conversation. Ask your peer a question; tell them how you are agree/disagree and why; point them to a specific part in a reading that can help them; etc.
(3) The posts will always be due by noon.
(4) I will be posting responses to your posts, so you need to make sure to look back at your post to review my response.

For our first weekly discussion, you need to respond to the following questions. Please don't respond to the question in a direct question/answer style rather respond to the questions in paragraph form making sure to engage with your audience as you do.

Tell us something unique about yourself.
What is one good experience you've had with writing and one not-so-good experience you've had with writing.
Have you ever taken an online class before? What are some concerns you have about taking an online class?
What is one important thing the class needs to know about you?
